New York, NY
This two thousand five hundred square foot loft in the heart of Greenwich Village was nearly destroyed by flooding. Fifty thousand gallons of water at a time came through the ceiling from the property above.
Most of the residence was simply restored to the condition it was in before the leaks. Since the moldy, sodden sheetrock had to be removed the bathrooms were gutted. One of our opportunities was to redesign the Master Bathroom. We swapped the position of the stall shower and the toilet. That allowed us to add a vaulted space above the shower. We also revealed the shower to the Master Bedroom it ajoins, so that we have natural light entering the bathroom through the shower.
The project was finishing construction in January 2007.
